I am normally not impressed with motion rides, but that one was pretty damn good. I was fortunate enough to go when it wasn’t so busy, so the reward per unit of frustration in line may vary.

The wand shop wasn’t worth the wait in line.

I was disappointed by the depiction of the Hogwarts Express in the films. The engine used was a Castle class locomotive such as would be used on Great Western Railways. The Hogwarts Express left from Kings Cross station, therefore it would have been a Gresley A3 as used by the London, North Eastern Railways. One can presume that it would be in its immediate post-war livery (apple green, with LNER) and was deliberately `lost’ during the creation of British Rail.

Hey, I was there over this past summer with the wife and kids! A fun time was had by all, despite the looooong lines and late June heat. I think I have almost that exact picture of my family.

I hope you didn’t spend your entire time at the park in the HP section. Not that there is anything wrong with that section, mind, but missing out on the rest of the park would be :(

On a side note, that “conductor” actor looks like he is the same one that was working there last January. Amusing guy, but my sister was convinced he was flirting with one of her friends, so I have some mixed feelings about him.

Yay! I went there this previous summer, and it was lots of fun. Of course, there’s the element of it that’s weird — seeing this fantasy world that means so much to me being acted out and knowing it’s all actors, employees, etc. — but it was still lots of fun. My brother and I stood in the line to go on the Forbidden Journey ride twice. My brother liked the butterbeer.

Hope you have a great time!
