Well, drat.
You know, there’s a reason why I moved out of the Midwest. And no, it’s not so I would miss the snow and cold even more when I returned. Oh well. All these times I’ve watched PZ tweet about getting stuck driving in blizzards… it’s only appropriate that I get to experience it myself. At least this was a good reminder that yes, I should actually pack a winter coat, and gloves, and a scarf, and layers…
…I’m still banking on a group from Hawaii inviting me for next spring break. Anyone down there listening?

You’re going for the beer, right!?
Julie says
You have an open invitation to come down to the Caribbean for Spring Break, but I’m not paying your speaker fee. ;)
Cory Albrecht says
Maybe you’re going for the cheese? Get some nice wedge-shaped headgear? :-)

Bah! That’s not cold — it barely even qualifies as chilly! A few more degrees and it’s shorts weather. Try Yellowknife in January if you want cold.

Temperature is so relative. Being a Minnesotan, those temps are sweatshirts temps for me. It’s actually been a few weeks since I have even warn my jacket. Except for the precipitation is pretty gorgeous weather. I guess you would have to have been here in January to understand.

Try the Central Valley. It’s raining right now, but Summer officially started yesterday.

It’s not so bad, really. I’ll be there to see ya. There’s warm places around campus at the U and you’ll be in really good company. If you think one or two days is bad, image what the rest of us poor schlubs have been doing since October.

Well come on down to Texas, we need all the intelligent freethinkers we can get!

Wow, high 20’s and low to middle 30’s! Beautiful warm weather for you. Maybe you’ll get a tan!Oh wait! You’re using that other old-fashioned scale aren’t you?Celsius rules! Go Metric!

Or maybe she’ll meet a great girl there!
