Awesome godless party in Indianapolis!

Us godless heathens in Indiana have to stick together, and what better way to do so than with drinks and music? I won a VIP party at Howl at the Moon Indianapolis on June 11, and I figured I’d share the fun with my blog readers (man, what’s up with atheist bloggers winning VIP parties to Howl at the Moon?). Between 5pm and 8pm, we have:

– Free cover
– Free dinner buffet
– ½ price drinks

All you have to do is show up between that time and give my name at the door (Jennifer McCreight, pronounced McCRITE). I’ll probably get there between 5 and 6 to maximize my half priced drinks – Howl is tasty but kind of overpriced normally, so I suggest you do the same. Also, you have to be over 21. Sorry young people D:

If you’re coming, RSVP at the facebook event so I know who to expect. And don’t forget to say hello!

(Holy crap, I used the tags “Indiana” and “fun” in the same post! Never thought that would happen…)

I don’t know if I’ll be making the 5-hr drive over there, but have fun! We had one of those in Cleveland a while back (it seems that HatM gives out “free” parties a lot, maybe on nights when they don’t anticipate a large turnout?), and someone barfed all over the BAR at around 10 PM.Also, in our case we should have taken a lot of small bills to tip the performers. They took special requests, but only if we paid them, and as the night went on, the prices got steeper. Make them perform something from the Meaning of Life!

Pros: (1) I live in Indianapolis. (2) I’m godless. (3) I’ve been lurking on your blog for a while and it’s one of my favorites.Cons: (1) It’s downtown. (2) I hate downtown and avoid it unless forced to go there. (3) It’s in a bar. (4) I hate bars. Hmmm… I’m going to have to think about this.

I absolutely want to come. It’s not prohibitively far away (about a 3 hour drive), I live in a very religious small town and could stand to meet some cool godless people, and I would love to talk to you about founding your non-theist group since I’m going to be starting at grad school in the fall at a university that doesn’t have any kind of secular group. On the other hand, it is kind of a long drive and I might be busy then. Hopefully not, though. So I’m going to give it a couple days and then I hope I’ll be able to rsvp yes on facebook. Incidentally, what is the food like? Will there be a decent amount of vegetarian food? It won’t really factor into my decision, but if not, then I might get some fast food on the way instead.

Blast it. I am a fan of the blog, godless, AND in Indy, but I just had back surgery and thus could not come and have with the fun.Ah well. Enjoy!

Sounds like fun. I live in the NE suburbs of Indy, and I’m free on Friday. I might try to show up and bring some friends from my local atheist club.

I have been to howl at the Moon Orlando several times now. I don’t drink though. I just sit back and listen to the piano dudes play and have fun. Oh by the way, I am not an athiest either.
