Update – Sorry for the Silence

I apologize for the lack of posts lately. I have been working my butt off! I love my jobs but I’ve been working every day and have no idea when I’ll get a day off. I like staying busy but I don’t know if I’m spending enough time with my family.

Despite the lack of downtime, I know I have to do this right now to help my family get back on track financially. We need relief.

Also, even though I haven’t been drawing much the last couple of weeks, I got into a couple more art shows. I will post more info as they open.

As always, thank you for your support. I miss you guys!

You’ve written about your family’s financial situation and how you wanted to be more of a provider. As long as you like your jobs and your daughter is safe and happy, you’re doing a great job!

Remember that no job is a lifetime commitment. Keep checking in with yourself: is the financial boost worth it? Does working in your dream field (art and art supplies) continue to fulfill you? Are you using your employee discount for art supplies? Are you finding out about other art shows and/or people interested in art from your art supply job? You’re in a “right to work” state (which is also a “right to quit” state but they don’t want you to realize that), so make it work for you. Stay as long as it benefits you.

If you’re a list person, you might want to keep a running list of pros and cons. If you’re a feelings person, check in with your feelings, maybe once a week? Is the con of having less time at home greater than the joy of meeting your life goals for yourself? Remember that no job is 100% great, 100% of the time, but you are in control of whether you stay or go.

    Hope that helps!
