I do not remember ever seeing a thistle flower with frost on it. Hereabouts they are generally all ripe and fluffy when the frost comes.
With or without frost, thistles are surely beautiful.

Beautiful! They look like a cross between jewelry and dessert.
They are lovely! Ours have all bloomed and the seeds been eaten as well.
I just love how they were starting to thaw on the side of the morning sun.
