Jack and I went to the park this morning instead of the woods so we could check the progress of the tulips, but there’s been very little progress since the last time we checked a few days ago. A bit of sunshine might help, but there hasn’t been much of that in the past few weeks and if the forecast is to be believed 7 of the next 10 days are going to be rainy. Sigh. We really don’t need any rain. The river and creeks are running high with localized areas of flooding and the ground is soggy just about everywhere. I know it’s the season of mud, but does it have to be muddy every single bloody day? Oh well, rain or shine the flowers will bloom eventually and just to prove that point we did find heaps of open daffodils all around the duck pond. They’re making their own sunshine.
Not only are they making their own sunlight but the look like they’re a choir, singing their hearts out.
Dsffodils are so cheerful, just when we need it most.
We have had rain, but not nearly enough and the next few days are forecast to be dry.

We’re lucky that on the 1st of May a large storm system parked itself south of the city and over a few days dumped 64mm of rain on us, the first notable amount for our cooler season. The garden has already got a sheen of fresh green about it.

The daffodils are so pretty and I love the couple of swans in the background. So lovely!
I hope you do get some sunshine soon. We’ve been having a few days of summer-like weather, and by that I mean I had to wear a tank top and apply sunscreen today to get stuff done in the garden. But if the forecast is to be believed it will rain next week, and it rained the week before this one, so things aren’t looking that dry yet.
