Let’s join Ice Swimmer on his walk around the island in the next chapter of his series.
Chapter 9 – Interlude II, Colours
This interlude is about colours, warm and cold, greens, yellows, reds and others.
In the next installment, we continue from the ponds to the rocks by the southwestern shore.

Those golden leaves are truly marvellous!
Nightjar says
These are lovely! My favourite is the second one, that path looks magical. It seems there is something hanging from a tree at the center, do you know what it is?
Ice Swimmer says
Thank you, avalus and Nightjar!

I guess it’s an insect trap of some sort, but I could be wrong. There was a different kind of insect trap nearby.
The trap in the link is called hyönteisrysä in Finnish (hyönteinen = insect, rysä = (a large) fish trap*).
__
* = Reuse or Aalreuse in German, ryssja or homma in Swedish, a smaller fish trap in Finnish would be katiska or merta**.
** = I think this is somewhat funny in some Romance languages.
Nightjar says
Thanks, Ice Swimmer, I remember now that you talked about insect traps on Harakka previously. And yes, you are right, “merta” does sound funny to me. :D
