In memory of Caine, who taught me much about the value of our surroundings and the value of water, and to celebrate Indigenous People Day, because Indigenous People all over the world have to fight for their water, against the black snake of oil and fracking, against the industries that use it as a throw away article, against the companies that will take people’s water and then sell it back to them in bottles..
I am very privileged to life in a beautiful place where I can probably say hello to tonight’s drinking water by taking a walk in the morning. This morning I took that walk and took pictures of the water here.

And finally, should the humans get thirsty, there is a wonderful fountain. You cannot see the actual nozzle, because it’s quite deep, but the water is always fresh and delicious. ©Giliell, all rights reserved
I am bogged down even without living in a swamp.
That wall mozaic is lovely. Absolutely gorgeous.
What a lovely walk. I love the mosaic too. I do wonder how useful the stakes are, I’ve landed flat on my back in mud slipping on wet wood, that wasn’t cross-cut though so perhaps that makes the difference.
The reflections are indeed lovely as is the mosaic.
I like the series and I like water. I like to swim in it and I feel lucky to be able to drink good tap water.
The source of my tap water is 120 km away in the second-largest lake in Finland, Päijänne, 25 m below the surface of the lake. The water comes via a tunnel quarried in bedrock, producing 830 kW of electric power on the way.

We’re lucky here. We have lots of clean safe water, which is why I abhor bottled water. We don’t need it and it’s incredibly wasteful, yet people buy it.
I’m in love with the sparkling-in-the-sun photo, it’s got such a lovely spectrum of colours framing the hidden water. It just feels so warm and like it would smell like dry ferns and damp earth.
(I, too, live in a swamp -- this whole country is one peat bog after another!)
I always wonder, why it has to bespecified to not wash your damn bloody car in a water reserve. (“Wagen waschen verboten ” -- “car washing (is) forbidden”)

Although I definitely do not live in a swamp area, tap water here is of good quality. It comes from a big river nearby. I do fear for the future though, the Iberian Peninsula is a climate hotspot, very vulnerable to droughts. I’m afraid things will get really dry really quickly.
