Jack’s Walk

We’ve had quite a few sunny days lately, but today it’s overcast and humid with rain on the way. That’s a perfect recipe of weather for growing things.

That’s a very soothing image. I like it.

Here it has been overcast and humid (but with very little rain) over the last week or so, and this after a few weeks of full sun and high temperatures (>25ºC). I had noticed most of the vegetation beginning to shrivel and dry, but this last week definitely brought the green back. Which is good, it’s still too early for spring to be over, the more summer gets postponed the better as far as I’m concerned!

Thanks, Nightjar. I agree about wanting spring to last longer. It took forever to come this year and I’m not ready yet for full on hot summer weather.

Lovely shades of green. We’re seeing that here too, and we did get more rain today, but it still isn’t enough.

What a beautiful shade of green! We could use some rain, too. The stuff that was promised passed over.

Shoots of recently sown cereal grain*?

I love the shades of green.

    * = In Finnish there’s a specific word for the green shoot of barley/oats/rye/wheat (with no ear yet), oras. Oras is also a(n) (uncommon) male first name (the Green League parliamentarian Oras Tynkkynen is the best known with the name) and a family name (and a company making faucets).
