Nightjar, I have really enjoyed this series of flowers. You have a great eye for managing light and always find the most flattering angle. I am looking forward to seeing more of your photos. I am a very amateur photographer, but I am trying to teach myself how to take better pictures. I learn a lot from this blog. There are a lot of very good photographers here, including you.

Thank you, Caine! There hasn’t been much light lately, I’m tired of all the gray. But when the sun shines the light is just beautiful.
Thanks so much, voyager! I’m completely amateur as well, learned everything I know from seeing others’ work and trying stuff on my own. I have to say, I learned a lot from Caine years ago, her work was a big inspiration for me. Still is. Let’s hope for better weather for all of us… I’m very sun-dependent when it comes to photography. :)

The light and the shadow are exquisite, as others have said. The flower is both beautiful and interesting looking, the yellow really pops out.
Also, yes, hoping for the warm and sunny part of spring for all of you. I’d rather keep the weather here sunny and cold, so that my herbs on the windowsill get a good start before the oaks and maples get leaves.

I love, love, love the colour in this one.
I am also hoping for a retreat of the grey -- the sun seems to be out more and more often, but the trees and plants are certainly taking their time. Perhaps they, too, no longer trust the weather…

Thank you, Ice Swimmer and rq!
It’s warmer today but it looks like we’re in for another rainy weekend. Lately I’ve been getting the impression that the sun only shines when I’m stuck in the lab…
