can I ask what general region of the world/country this was taken? Given the band on the tail, it could be one of a couple species. Or is that just a trick of the light? Very cool pic.
It was taken in South Australia on a cold, overcast day, hence the grey sky. Damned thing wouldn’t stay still, I had about 40 shots at it and only got this one with minimal blur. It felt like it was teasing me, pop in to view and duck off again, fly from one side of the paddock to another and duck behind a shed, then straight up again. Most frustrating, but I’ll try again this weekend, probably take a smaller camera so the weight doesn’t cause so much motion.
