I don’t grow them, I trim them down just about to the ground in March and let them loose (some deadheading and weeding may be applied). ;) But I always wanted the rose garden, and the house came with one -- 40 different varieties (of which 4 have died over 4 winters, 3 were replaced).
I think that counts as growing them! I wouldn’t have the slightest idea of how to maintain a rose garden.

I read a (1) book about it (not even all of it, just the chapter on basic pruning) and decided not to read anymore so as not to confuse myself. Also, I go with the idea that they’re a lot more robust than rumoured. Mostly true. :)
