And, The Idiot Fucks Us All Into The Ground.

President Trump announced Thursday afternoon that he is withdrawing the United States from the landmark Paris climate agreement, a move that honors a campaign promise but risks rupturing global alliances and disappointing both environmentalists and corporate titans.

But Trump said he would seek to negotiate a new climate deal that is, in his view, “fair” to America’s interests.

“In order to fulfill my solemn duty to protect America and its citizens, the United States will withdraw from the Paris climate accord but begin negotiations to reenter either the Paris accord or an entirely new transaction on terms that are fair to the United States, its businesses, its workers, its people, its taxpayers,” Trump said.

“We’re getting out,” he added, “but we will start to negotiate and we will see if we can make a deal that’s fair. If we can, that’s great. If we can’t, that’s fine.”

Trump argued that the Paris agreement would “punish” the United States and instituted “onerous energy restrictions” that would stymie economic growth, especially in manufacturing industries. The president claimed that meeting the accord’s greenhouse gas emission standards would cost the United States close to $3 trillion in lost gross domestic product and 6.5 million industrial jobs.

I can’t go on. Not right now. Jesus Fuck, the idiot is going to kill us all. Full story is at The Washington Post. Read at your peril. Also, stay the hell away from twitter, it’s infested with fucking idiots, waving their tiny flags, which are considerably bigger than their brains.

There’s also this, but there’s no funny business with Russia, no, no.  And this: Trump’s argument for withdrawing from Paris agreement contains multi-trillion dollar math error: In a cost-benefit analysis, you’re supposed to analyze the costs and the benefits.

I can predict the number the number or coal mining jobs that increase due to that bit idiocy. ZERO.
The world will go toward renewables; it has no choice. Either the USA is out on the vanguard, or we will be left behind, to buy from foreign countries their technologies for renewable energies.

In response to this, New York governor Cuomo has announced the formation of the United States Climate Alliance along with the governors of California and Washington State. Let’s hope it’s more than just lip service, and in that case that more states join.

Hopefully, the idjits in charge of my IRA are moving my monies into renewable energy generation. That is where the action will be….

Goddamnit this is fucking pathetic. I genuinely don’t even know what to do with this.

I’ve already been prepping a post on this for the 2nd, but I included a hat tip to you, Caine.

I’m loving* all the commentary all about how ‘he can’t just leave, it’ll still be 3 or 4 years until he can leave the accord’, you know, basically -- it’s not so bad, and I just want to say ‘fuck you’, because jsut because he can’t ‘leave’ the accord doesn’t mean he can’t ignore it, not follow it, and do all teh same damage as if he had left it. Basically this was a declaration of non-co-operation, and that is what counts, not the legal aspect of ‘oh, he can’t just leave like that’.

Good to hear about the Climate Alliance, I hope more states join and actually do shit, not jsut form an alliance.
And basically I think the world should just stop dealing with any USAmerican company that doesn’t adhere to specific environmental standards, thereby anyone who wants to can go on and emit all the gasses they want, but there will be no business in it. Not that this will happen, it’s a bit of a dream of mine for the current situation.
    Anyway. In short, fuck.

So…. doing something about climate change is cool. And not doing something about climate change is also cool.

So the orange stain is actually just saying climate change doesn’t matter. Nothing has changed.

But I’m sure the media will be portraying that statement as Trump having a change of heart on the topic. Anytime now Fareed Zakaria or Brian Williams will be saying something like, “Today, Donald Trump became president”.
