These are the kind of places where I have no problem getting lost…
Oh wait, did someone mention Dwarves?
— “Rukan, when are these humans going to leave? My legs hurt!”
“Be patient, Krunik. It’s just an excursion. We’ve survived them before.”
“I know, but at least we should have picked a better stratum to hide in. This one has too much iridium. It’s itchy!”
“Oh, come on, Krunik! Quit it with the iridium. You’re always complaining about it even when it’s not there. You know how rare it is. I bet we don’t even have more than a couple of grams* in this whole layer.”
“That’s easy for you to say. You’re not allergic to it!”
“Krunik, for the last time: you’re not allergic to iridium, you’re allergic to moss. That lump of iridium you touched once was covered with spores.”
“The spores helped, yeah, but I’m pretty sure the iridium made the reaction worse.”
“Oh, for the love of Gok… Oh, wait! They’re leaving already!”
“Really? At last! Do you think they left something interesting?”
“Nah. Just a couple of candy wrappers, and a tree branch. Someone was using it as a staff.”
“Oh, great. Now we’ll have to take it upstairs before the Dryads come looking for it.”
“You’ll start complaining about the Dryads too? What are you, a Dwarves’ Rights Activist?”
“Oh, an ad dwarvinem attack. How clever. Don’t you Stratum Justice Warriors have any arguments other than pitiful insults?”
“Gok, I’m so tired of being partnered with you. Sakar will hear about this…”

Yes, sounds like every school excursion I’ve ever been on.

@Kreator, #3: OK, you win the thread! And possibly the internet! Stratum Justice Warriors is pretty brilliant. :-D

Ooh, the last photo does have a magical feeling. I like the textures of the stone in the first pics.

The last two photos -- mm mmm, magic, both of them!
I do like me some patterned rocks, too, and these are fine, fiiine samples. Kreator’s narration is spot-on (thanks for that, Kreator, I had a good giggle!).

That looks like so much fun to explore!
