Walmart is selling a Thug Life Mask with Bandana. FFS, whoever the people are who do the stock buying for Walmart all need to be rounded up and given a serious talk about ethics, sensitivity, and how not to demonstrate they are bigoted assholes. As bad as this is on the part of Walmart, it’s even worse on the part of all those who bought this damn thing. If you purchased this piece of bigotry, you really need to ask yourself, what in the fuck is wrong with me? and don’t move until you come up with an answer.
With all that is going on in the world with Black Lives Matter, police brutality, Donald Trump, and etc, you would think companies would have some sensitivity towards certain issues. Considering that innocent people have lost their lives, now is not the time to be “funny”.
But no, Walmart has decided to sell a Black Thug Life Mask. What message is this suppose to send? How are black people suppose to respond to this? Why is the mask sold out? I guess it is becoming clearer and clearer as to how white america feel about black people. However, I think it is time for black people to send a message back!
Whenever someone pose a threat or say something insensitive to the LGBT community, they unify and then affect that business. They will boycott them and other companies will support that movement. I think it is time for black people to unify and send a message to Walmart. The message should be we ain’t shopping there, PERIOD! I’d happily boycott Walmart, if I shopped there, which I don’t. I haven’t set foot in a Walmart store for over 10 years now. I know it simply isn’t that easy for a lot of people, but if you can’t boycott, then make your voice known, loud and proud. Write letters, send emails, spread the word! This is really beyond the pale.

I’ll happily join you in that boycott — except it’s even more meaningless and not too effective for me — I have never been inside a Walmart (and have no idea how close I’ve ever been to one, having no recollection of ever even seeing one in person) — plus, of course, there are none in France (or Europe / EU), as far as I know.
Rather more to the point, why does anyone go there? My (admitedly crude) understanding is all the “employees” are actually slaves, the products poisoned and garbage, and “they” shoot you if you try to leave without a full oversized cart full of said poisoned garbage.
Along with Amazon, Walmart is top of my list for a klepto-driven corporate feudal quasi-state to absolutely avoid.

In some places, Walmart is the only store in town.
@blf: Yeah… problem is, Walmarts move into an area, undersell everyone, and all the locals go out of business because they can’t compete. Once the competition is gone a lot of the prices go up, sometimes actually pretty far up. In the meantime there is no longer any local competition. So for some people there is not a whole lot they can do about it.
I’ve been boycotting Walmart forever for the above reason and many others and of course they don’t give a crap and I doubt I’ll bring them to their corporate knees. On the other hand, just on a personal level, it makes *me* feel better not to give them any of my hard-earned pennies, and I’ve further informed family members to just not shop there for me for gifts either. It may not be much, but hey.
On the mask thing: We went to a different store and noticed there is a Hillary mask, and an Obama mask, but not a Trump mask. What the hey?
