My aunts have said they called thistle flowers partasuti (shave brush, direct translation beard brush) and probably used them as such in their playing stuff when they were kids. I have no idea if their thing is very widespread.
Thistle is ohdake in standard Finnish (none of the traditional dialects would have the d).
