I have a thing for the mundane, things so mundane they are invisible. All the things that no one sees. I drive Rick a tad spare when we go walkabout, because I’ll be hanging way back there, staring at a chain link fence. I enjoy all the invisible things just the way they are, and I enjoy playing with them too. This little bit of ordinary is a taillight on a school bus converted into a camper. Click for full size.

To go from a rear light to ravenous fish with fiery mouths is just wonderful.

Great photos -- Seeing them together gives an insight into the creative process.
For me the original picture has a kind of poetic melancholy that I really relate to. Have you heard of the Japanese photographer Kimiko Sugiura (杉浦貴美子) -- she takes pictures of Walls . Nothing could be more ordinary, but I find them both fascinating and often moving. Strange how commonplace objects can be transformed through the artist’s eye.
Real life alchemy!

Those wall pics are excellent. I particularly like the top row, 3rd from left on page one.
