I can’t get over the amazing level of detail you got here, rq! A stunning shot.

Can you believe it? I stuck my phone camera in the wasp’s face. It kept turning its back on me (see your email for a different angle on this same wasp), so I got lucky with this one. Generally speaking, I’m please with the capabilities of my phone camera, though I’m bent on putting aside some money to get my actual camera fixed. Nothing special, but at least it had a manual focus function that I like to play with. :)
Holy shit. I am so impressed with camera phones, you get better shots with those than I do with my Nikon.

What I especially like about this photo is that you can see how hairy the wasp is. With naked eye they tend to look so hairless.
I’ve found that with a camera phone, the most difficult part with photographing animals is getting close enough. Extra points for bravery for rq!

The only problem with camera phones is that they have so little manual control. The automated functions are amazing, but sometimes I like to make my own mistakes. :)

Oooh. I need to find where I archived some shots of tarantula hawks. They are real common around here, and tend to pose nicely like this one.
Very nice shot.

Oh great. Rats in bird puppets are at least an amusing quirk, but rats inside oversized flying stinging thingy puppets suggests the quirks are acquiring quicks. Which are quirky. Soon it will be quantum rat puppets with extra vibrations.
