If I walk around the garden at this time of year I mostly see olive drab green. But look closely and little flowers peek shyly out from the gloom. The daily max temperatures still exceed 60F so there’s more life around than in regular winters. I’ll keep my photo eye peeled for more. There are some tiny slipper orchids that sometimes appear in the top garden area that I hope to capture for the first time this year.

Yes, a brilliant blue! Purple! Whatever that salvia colour is! It’s the shade of purple-blue that seems to glow among other colours (to me).

Beautiful flowers again. The flowers in the second salvia pictures have almost cartoonish frog/lizard/fish head shapes which look pretty. I love the blue and violet colours in the first.
