Oh, that won’t be Charm, he’s a sweetheart, and committed to the “ooh what tasty food do you have for me now” regime. He is red-eyed, and mostly blind, but it doesn’t slow him down in the least.

Charm [is] committed to the “ooh what tasty food do you have for me now” regime.
Chigau, yeah, he is. Charm’s a favourite. As soon as he hears me, he’s one of the first to pop his head up, even before Hades and Hellquin, who are usually first. Such a calm, sweet boy, and very playful. I named him after one of Lucio’s kittens, a white one that almost died, in An Uncertain Place by Fred Vargas.
The curled whiskers (rexstache 8-) look so cute and I’m guessing from previous comments that they give a good enough feel of the surroundings.
They do, which is rather amazing. In the evening, when the boys decide to put on the full circus, Charm is one of the most playful, racing up and down (often on me), and wrestling, with occasional cuddle stops.

Charm’s favourite is slices of banana.
The mildly deranged penguin is not pleased to hear this. That means her secret defensive measure against forty-foot killer rats won’t work: Ten-foot long banana skins.

No, I’m afraid that wouldn’t work. Even when they are small, rats rule banana skins. I let them play with them a bit before disposing of them. I really should get photos, but I’m usually laughing too much -- the first time I let them play, Hellquin and Hades were determined to grab the same skin, and were pulling it along at a good pace while Valentim was riding on it. Banana sled!

Banana sled!
Then it worked! Instead of getting stepped-on by the rats, the rats ran away.
The curled whiskers […] give a good enough feel of the surroundings.
Forty-foot high killer rats navigate — to the extent they need to navigate, most obstacles can simply be stepped-on or walked-through — by screams. And SQUISH sounds. Screams and squishing means the correct direction, having fun, maybe a few banana sleds…
Obviously his eyes are signalling the beginning of the rebellion.

Books, at the moment.
And then…?
No, not books. That’s just a handy location for photos. Right now, Charm’s favourite is slices of banana.
Cuuuuuute!
