I was very happy to discover that some had self-sown themselves into my garden (probably the wind), and while they don’t have the bright colour that some types do (being more of a wild-type, I guess), I’m working on creating a small poppy patch, purely for the pleasure of looking at them when they’re all in full bloom in mid-summer. They’re rather tall and very straight, with the wonderful flamboyant flower on top.
That’s poppies, alright! Mine are self-sown too, but I’d like to plant a fairly large patch. They are so beautiful, and they are good for pollinators, too.

Thank you, C. I don’t think I’ve seen close-up photos of poppies before. (I have, however, suppressed the desire to cackle and talk about poison.)
Mmmm. Makes me want to collect berries or something.
:D
I love poppies, they are such sensual flowers.

You’re welcome, A. Oh, you can cackle and talk about poison all you like. ;)
