So after two weeks of intense job searching and no posting, thinking I had a job twice only to have both fall thru for reasons beyond my control or the prospective employer’s fault for that matter, I have absolutely nothing to show for the effort. Today’s incarnation is yet another job, third one, that seems or perhaps seemed like a pretty sure deal, but they did not send me training instruction on Friday like they said they would. So now I’m in limbo, again. It’s a little frustrating, but I’ve gotten used to it.
Life could be worse. Just ask Nate Phelps, Son of Fred:

I’ve been worried about you since you weren’t posting, Stephen.
It’s amazing that none of those jobs have panned out for you.
Have you applied at USAA? It seems to me that company is really great about hiring a diverse group of people and your skills would work well with their business policies.
They deserved the right to finally have closure to decades of rejection…

I’m somewhat torn by this news becaise one one hand its good riddance to Fred Phelps a truly awful hateful man and on the other I do feel for and wish to express condolences to Nathan and others in his family. Also apparently from what I’ve read elsewhere, Fred Phelps was excommunicated from his own church because he wanted it to be kinder and nicer – at least to its own members.
Plus Phelps was living disproof of the Right’s claims of being persecuted and reduced freedom of speeech as another Fred, Clark of the ‘Slacktivist’ blog once pointed out here :

Then too, had he lived just a few more years, who knows, there might have been the best revenge of all against the Westboro’s mob – Fred Phelps and his cult witnessing equal marriage and tolerance for LGBTQI people USA and most of the Western world wide. I think (hope too natch) that’s coming and much sooner than expected so shame he didn’t quite live to see that and see how little even perversely opposite his hateful cult’s efforts have been.
So, yeah, mixed emotions.

Might have been correctly interpreted as his personal blessing, since these outbursts would have generated massive amounts of sympathy for their target, and contributed to their success.
