According to the Salon article on #LookaDouche, it was the kids who rebelled against this idiot’s presence at their school. Let that sink in: the kids showed more decency and maturity than the adults. That kind of implies that their generation will grow up to be decent people, if they don’t cave to the indecent culture that’s trying so hard to de-civilize them.
And WTF is this about dateable women shutting up? Who wants to date a woman who doesn’t have interesting things to talk about? Isn’t that kinda what dating is FOR? Sharing interests and enjoying each other’s thoughts, ideas, experiences, etc.?

I thought religion was supposed to civilize people and show them a “godly” path that was ABOVE the animal level. This just shows how easy it is for the lowest of the low to take their basest urgings and pretend they’re God’s commandment.

This is actually great advice for avoiding asshole Christian men in the dating scene. If a man needs you to be helpless and silent and treat him like a feral animal in order to find you dateable, you should run for your life to get as far away from him as possible.
I just had an experience with typical Texan attitude toward women. We need a new roof, so my hubby placed three requests for estimates via e-mail. I had three calls very quickly on last Monday.
The first two calls set up appointments with me – one for Tuesday at 10 am, the other for Thursday, telling me that he would be out by 4:30 to measure, and then could talk with both of us when hubby got here at 5.
Then came the interesting one. He kept insisting that he would talk only with my husband.
When I told him that the other two companies set up the appointments with me, he wanted to know who would make the final decision on the roof. I pointedly told him that we BOTH would.
He hurried over that evening when the hubby got home, and it was dark of course, so he couldn’t really check the roof carefully or measure, but that didn’t matter to him.
The first words out of his mouth were “Call your insurance and I’ll discount the work after they pay so that you won’t have to pay any deductible”. Our view on this was that if he was willing to cheat our insurance company, then he would probably be willing to cheat the customer, too. Also, he couldn’t know that our daughter happens to be an executive at said insurance company, so we’re not interested in cheating them.
He only spoke to my husband, trying to get him to sign an agreement that evening, and only said “Hello” and “Good Evening” to me. Smarmy!
The reps from the other two companies were great. One sent a pair out and one was a woman, who climbed up on the roof with the guy. They taught me a lot about shingles that day. The other company sent a young man who was also respectful and honest.
I liked the company with the woman, but the last company has a great record with our insurance company, so they got the job. I informed both the insurance adjustor and our daughter about the smarmy guy, so I doubt whether he’ll be getting business from the insurance company in the future.
Misogyny is alive and well in Texas. Many men here simply don’t understand a marriage that is a true partnership. I suppose that they think that men like my husband are wimps.
So, they should just shoot themselves, or what? Obvious contradiction is obvious.

To be grudgingly fair here, “conquering a land” could refer to enduring defeating natural obstacles not the indigenous population eg. conquering Antartica by surviving and reaching the south pole. It could also involve converting and “civilising” or co-existing with the locals rather than necessarily oppressing them.
Also the “oppressed could be groups within or other tribes oppressed by the natives for instance when the Conquistadores conquered the Aztecs, they allied themselves with many local indigenous groups who wre trying to overthrow their oppressive Aztec rulers if memory serves.
Question is – are they house-broken? That’s kind of a problem if not!
But the opposite sex is supposed to live by his rules? So no equality and females are basically to do what their told without ever expecting to tell blokes what to do. Yeah that’s fair – NOT!!
Its ..ironic might be one word for it .. that the fundamentalist here uses such language as wild and domesticated and so on about both sexes but mainly men and yet would no doubt feel outraged that evolution (correctly) makes humans classified as animals.
Oh & for clarity the bit about ” “civilising” the locals there is referring to how the would-be conquerors see it and not how we or I do. Their idea of “civilising” certainly involves a lot of repression and oppression and outright destruction of pre-existing and other cultures and isn’t something I advocate. Hence the original scarequotes.
“Men of God are wild” and frustrated, angry, abusive to anyone weaker than they are, and confused by all those odd feelings they get around certain male friends. Their women are frustrated, disappointed, and passive-aggressive. So it goes.
Since when are “Men of God” wild? I thought it was us pagans who were supposed to be the untamed ones?
Speaking as a man not of his god, I prefer to date women who are “wild and untamed” and do not live by the rules of his segment of the opposite sex!
