The usual suspects want into your private parts and, now, under your hood

Over halfway there guys, paypal email is DarkSydOtheMoon-at-aol.com, thanks!

I’m very grateful to those who have chipped in to help get me through the next few weeks. I’m well over halfway to where I need to be. Here’s an example of the kind of obstacles people like me have to deal with. These clowns want to deny benefits to hungry people who can’t find jobs, and deny benefits to people because they’re frugal and own a functional vehicle:

Politicus — Beyond the $20 billion in cuts that will throw an estimated two million children, elderly, and disabled Americans off food stamps, millionaire Rep. Paul Ryan is pushing an amendment that would close the door to assistance for the vast majority of Americans. Ryan and Rep. Frank Lucas are proposing that categorical eligibility be eliminated and replaced with an asset limit. If an individual has $2,000 in savings, or a car worth more than $5,000, they will not be eligible for food stamps.

Got that? That would mean the party of small gubmint now wants to snoop on your blue-book value, maybe take a look at your paint job or under your hood, and keep a close eye on your checking account. The Catch-22 being you’ll need a reliable car to look for work or hold a shitty job in most places if you want to receive food stamps. One might presume lots of people who tumbled out of the middle class might still have a pre-recession car running that they depend on completely. A vehicle that might still be worth over five grand in some cases, for people barely hanging on by their fingernails, so no food for you!

This is beyond class warfare, this is moving toward class genocide, punishing the poor and middle class with hunger and homelessness for the excesses of the rich. We don’t need a mythological Satan in the US, these fuckers are pure evil incarnate, wrapped in the flag and wearing a cross.

The nutters who call themselves “republicans” are known to everyone else as the thugs (short for regthugican party) for a reason.

It’s just increasing levels of control. The control that wage-slavery puts in place aren’t enough for ya, let’s put some punitive measures in place, too!

To put it bluntly, I’ve owned plenty of cars worth less than that. They all cost money that you wouldn’t have to upkeep them if you required assistance. And if you live in a big city with mass transit, that isn’t free either, although you’d be much better off in that case. If you were really in a situation to do without a vehicle and it were worth a considerable amount of cash, you’d sell the damn thing on your own without any outside prompting, much less prompting via unsubtle legal bludgeon.

To clarify the above comment, those cars frequently required $400+ repairs (on the order of once every year or two) and that came out of my budget before anything else because nothing else was more vital to keeping myself in a paycheck. It was rather random but you knew it would happen at some point. And sometimes you’d sink hundreds into the thing just to have some repair pop up that cost in the neighborhood of $1,000 a month later. Remember these are OLD cars by this point and not necessarily kept up by their original owners.

So you sell your 6 year old car for $8k and but a 13 year old for $4k. Now your savings goes from $400 to $4.4K. Sorry, sucker, you can’t win the precious food stamps unless you blow some money on a big going to the poorhouse party..
