Company Link –The latest Limited Edition release, Ardbeg Galileo, was launched to celebrate the Islay distillery’s world-first experiment in space on the International Space Station.
This ground-breaking study began when samples of the Ardbeg-crafted molecules took off for the International Space Station (ISS) in the unmanned Russian Progress 45 cargo spacecraft. The spaceship was launched via a Soyuz booster rocket at 10.11am GMT on 30 October 2011 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. It docked with astronauts at the International Space Station at 11.41am GMT on 2 November 2011.
Apparently whiskeys are in part a product of complex biochemical interactions between ingredients and the charred wood of an oak tree. It’s conceivable the oak chips could act differently in microgravity, affecting that outcome, possibly for the better. It’s a foregone conclusion we will we need try many samples to know for sure …

As for space whisky I’ll drink to that! I did see an article form years ago on a Japanese space beer that was made or maybe just transported into space and back. Will have to see if I can find it again.
I can hardly wait for the cannabis experiments in space!
