Bill Clinton showed up at the DNC last night carrying a big stick, and he used it to do some ass whupp’n. In what’s being called a virtuoso performance and covering the gamut of conservative zombie lies and delusions, the 42nd President managed to speak eloquently and at times with soaring rhetoric, yet minced few words and pulled no punches. Full speech below:
Why are the dems bringing it so well all of the sudden? They are speaking the truth, they are speaking from the heart, and the material is not being shoehorned into 10 minute segments on commercial television or interrupted by paid shills spewing misinformation at every turn. That’s really it. And when that material is sliced and diced by the media and fact checkers, it holds up — unlike the tired spiels pitched at the RNC last week.
It remains to be seen if dems can press that advantage home, this electorate is locked in for all but a few points. But agree or disagree with Obama’s policies, this year’s DNC speakers are slashing deep into the conservative underbelly and hitting bone.
Of course the problem here is that eventually Republican-leaning voters start to believe the fact checkers have a liberal bias…
