Wheel that old abuser into jail for life. Sandusky’s been found guilty as hell and there’s really no one who seems to think he got railroaded:
CNN— Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was found guilty Friday on 45 of 48 counts related to sexual abuse of boys over a 15-year period.
Jurors delivered the verdict around 10 p.m. after deliberating for about 21 hours. There were convictions related to all 10 sexual abuse victims, with the three not-guilty verdicts applying to three different individuals.
Sandusky stood slightly hunched, looking down with his hand in his pocket but showing no visible emotion as the guilty verdicts were read out in court. His wife, Dottie, blinked back tears.
I feel bad, a little tiny bit bad, for his wife. But you know what might have spared Dottie this pain, along with preserving the well being of dozens of children? If the other coaches and buddies and good ole boys at PennState wouldn’t have looked the other way while Jerry Sandusky raped little boys.
That might have saved everyone a lot heartache and worse. But they didn’t do that. And I don’t know if that makes them all as guilty as Sandusky, but it sure makes them liable. I hope attorney’s for those victims burn that whole stinking crew to the fucking ground.

Dottie knew things. You know she knew things. Victims testified about crying out to her while she was in the house but not in the same room. One victim testified that he was so loud and so desperate that he thought her non-response meant the basement was soundproof.
I do not say she is as guilty as Jerry, but when talking about what might have saved her some pain, well, being honest with herself and her community would have been a start.
And, not incidentally, it would have saved numberless children immense pain as well.

If this whole mess doesn’t equal the absolute end of Penn State, then there is something wrong with Pennsylvania.
Alas, I live here and know that there is plenty wrong with this shitty state. A few people have lost their jobs but Penn State is too fucking important as an institution around here to ever suffer the repercussions it deserves.
I’ve lost friends over this shitpile – because Penn State is such an institution around here that otherwise perfectly normal, respectable adults would rather defend a child rapist than see shame come to their precious fucking college. Obviously that doesn’t even approach the pain those children went through but it makes me pretty bitter about the whole thing, that an institution like college football could turn perfectly ordinary people to defend acts so obviously evil.
There’s an analogy to religion here somewhere but I just can’t seem to find it.

If there were any justice, the NCAA would suspend the Penn State football program for 4 years (and Penn State should honour its scholarship commitment). But that won’t happen *sigh*.

The right result was reached in the Sandusky trial: arrest him, collect evidence, try him, convict him, and then lock him up forever and throw away the key. May he rot in isolation, no personal possessions and NO materials in the cell he could hurt himself with. I hope he lives 30+ years with nothing to think about but regret.
I have no patience or empathy for him, nor does anyone else. And yet on other sites, I’ve read the inevitable and sick calls for retribution and violence. And I’m not talking about people calling for the death penalty, they are people calling for Sandusky to be raped himself, or tortured, or “put in general population and see how long her lasts”. Those who call for him to be mutilated and violated are no better than Sandusky himself.
Here’s hoping the judge makes the sentences consecutive so parole is impossible. The maximum sentence for his crimes means Sandusky could eventually get out if they were concurrent.

I agree with leftover1under. The thought of people like him sitting in jail for 30 years is a good thought. I have never understood why people want the death penalty for revenge. They get off easy that way.
And I agree that I do not want him raped or mistreated in any way.
I suspect the reason he was so calm was that they had him on some serious anxiolytics.

Apparently, the authorities in Pennsylvania aren’t through with Mr. Sandusky. A couple of other of his victims have come forward with their stories, in addition to the charges of abuse from his adopted son. Mr. Sandusky may be spending more time in the courtroom over the next couple of years then in the slammer.
