Result on a recent poll asking conservative Illinois voters about the President’s citizenship and evolutionary biology tail with the same questions a week ago about Mississippi and Alabama voters. Although the results are slightly less depressing in Illinois:

The “believe in evolution” numbers at 41% are quite unexpected.
By me anyway. I’m surprised they aren’t around zero.

I do wish they wouldn’t phrase the evolution Q that way: If anyone ever asked me that I’d have a great temptation to push them downstairs and ask if they believed in gravity.

I said this before about the Alabama/Mississippi polls, but I’ll say it again: PPP really needs to do the scientifically rigorous thing and poll groups other than Republicans. Otherwise, what are we supposed to be comparing these numbers to (or, for the grammatically fastidious: to what are we supposed to be comparing these numbers)?
