It’s funny how much effort we put into building redundant and reliable systems (e.g.: “cloud computing”) that scale and replicate well – yet they are subject to the simplest of attacks that can disable them.
I’ve noticed a few new voices here, and I’m very happy to welcome you to ${whatever this is}.
It’s been fascinating to watch the ebb and flow of readers. At one point, I had about 30 times the current readership, and obviously either I managed to piss them off, or the blogosphere changed, or they went on to other things, or whatever. Just looking at the numbers is not informative nor would it cause me to change my editorial approach, such as it is, so why bother. Just pull up a chair and a mug of something drinkable (it’s heading toward cold weather up here in Pennsylvania) and hang out as long as you like.

Well, a lull on the blog, anyhow. But, I’m back now.
That I’ve subtly changed (or dramatically) the focus of this blog away from authoritarianism, bad government, online arguments, etc., and toward more lightweight things.

I’m fine; I’ve just been being quiet.
Since I’ve been taking a walk every evening, I’ve found that I easily slipped into trading my blogging-time for walking-time.
My poor brain keeps getting whacked by stuff. I suppose this is “getting old.”
