This is another example of credulous/bad reporting about my field. Whenever I see the press utterly fail to “get” something to do with computer security, I assume they’re equally lazy and wrong about every other field that requires more understanding than “who made Kim Kardashian’s shoes?” (because they are labelled)
I was annoyed at myself, earlier, for taking the easy way out and doing a half-hearted job with some iPhone video and bad lighting.

Last weekend my friend in Pittsburgh and I went to visit the Phipps Conservatory.
Pittsburgh’s a great town, with lots of cool museums and galleries (home to the Andy Warhol gallery, Carnegie Museum, Phipps Conservatory, Frick Art Collection, etc.) also there’s way too much great food to be found there, according to my expanding waist-line.
It’s a sign of my suspicion of government that I read everything they say at least twice. So, when I saw the headline: [bi] “Trump is reportedly ending the CIA’s covert program to arm Syrian rebels.” I thought, “good!”
