Kestrel made me a neck gooby out of the mokume-gane I sent her!
What’s really neat is how she used the underlying layers in the metal to do something pretty with the surface. That’s an art thing I simply do not possess. I can polish things and that’s about where I stop.
I’m good at making stuff and sending it out to people but I’m not very organized at getting stuff and expressing my gratitude. There are several of you who have sent me cool stuff! I will post about it as soon as I am done stuffing my face (“quality testing”) all the things.

Oooh I like that! You and Kestrel between you have made two gorgeous things.

When I saw the title, this is not what I thought it would be! I had a vet who called small wounds “goobies”.
Yay, it fits, that’s great. And yes, that’s a very Tom Selleck look you are sporting there.
Jazzlet is right, that piece of metal is really cool. I’m sorry it set a bunch of fires all over your shop but it sure is beautiful. BTW you can thank abbeycadabra who said: “Random suggestion: Cut a little triangle, 1″ sides, out of the nicest bit of the mokume you ended up with. Polish it, drill one corner, put it on a chain. You will have a delightfully pretty and unusual pendant, and also a constant reminder/warning about what happened when you made it.” That gave me the idea, although I also did some cold forging and shaping/filing to get it to look like that. Credit where it is due!

I very slightly helped, apparently!!

I’m really enjoying the creative synergy you two have been coming up with lately. First, the art you create together is wonderful to look at, but most of all, I love the co-operation across real time and real space, and then the ability to have both perspective posted up on this wonderful thing called The Interwebz. Is it selfish to ask y’all to keep it up for my enjoyment?

It’s lovely and it looks so organic. Almost like wood.

Ooh, that’s very pretty. The two of you tell such wonderful progressive stories and you always seem able to surprise each other. Surprises are like little nuggets of happiness in life.
