Seth Meyers discusses how even Trump’s neighbors who live in the vicinity of his Mar-a-Lago resort don’t want to him to live there after he leaves the White House. Since New Yorkers don’t seem to want him either, one wonders where he will end up. I must say that given how much Trump likes to humiliate other people, I am really enjoying him suffering one indignity after another.

This is really the season to visit South Georgia. Gives a great head start on building a snow cave to survive the southern hemisphere winter. I would donate some canned food that isn’t that expired.

I don’t really see this as one of Trump’s “woes”. If anything, it’s something he’d like.
Consider: the people in question have absolutely no power to stop him doing pretty much what he wants. And now, they have made it clear that they do NOT want him to live near them. They’ve clearly never met him, read anything or heard anything about him, because if they’d been paying any attention at all they’d know that if you want him to do something pretty much the best way of ensuring it happens is to tell him that doing it would upset you or a bunch of other people he doesn’t know or give two shits about. He actively enjoys annoying people -- it’s one of his most obvious defining character traits. I can’t imagine why anyone would tell him something he could do to piss them off, as that would seem a guarantee that he’d do exactly that, as soon and as hard as possible. What are these people thinking?

It occurs to me to wonder something that first crossed my mind in reference to Margaret Thatcher. While she was still alive, I speculated that, in the inevitable and unfortunately not-soon-enough event of her death, it was inconceivable that she would be buried somewhere accessible to the public. The example I used was Princess Diana, who was interred on an island in a lake on her brother’s private estate. That location was chosen to keep away hordes of morons likely to turn up to “pay tribute” to a woman they’d never met and who had never had any material effect on their lives.
In the case of Thatcher, I envisioned any conceivable place of interment having to put up railings to control the queues of people who absolutely HAD been materially affected by her work, lining up in their hundreds of thousands to take a steaming shit on her mortal remains. I’d have been in that queue. She was cremated, I suspect because even her biggest fans recognised that there were likely at least a million people prepared to desecrate her grave. There were enough people who hated her that the week after she died the number one song on the British pop charts was “Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead”. (I’m not making that up.)
Now: I did wonder if 74-year-old obese man Trump has considered what’s going to happen after he dies? It occurred to me that he probably hasn’t given it a moment’s thought, imagining that he’ll be able to buy or bully Death itself. Obviously he’s going to die regardless. I do wonder what the arrangements will be for his resting place, though? Are his progeny so like their dad, so deluded that they’ll think somewhere visitable by the public is a good idea? Or will he be put to rest somewhere sufficiently isolated that it won’t be immediately fertilised with the dung of a million democrats?
I probably ought to go and do something productive, but I’m moving house literally today and haven’t much to do…

That is quite amusing. If he were even a minimally reasonable person, he might have foreseen it. The problem is, however, he never intended on honoring any of the thousands of legal agreements he has signed. I wouldn’t be surprised if he got his way, one way or another.

Is there any precedent for a president visiting their public library for an extended stay? It’s not like he’ll care if some books or papers have to get moved. He won’t read any of it anyway and I think even he has an at least an inkling that the documents about his presidency are going to reveal how badly run the country was under his administration. Or to put it in terms he and his followers will understand, how big a loser he was and how much he made all of us lose.
