Kim Davis is the rancid homophobic clerk of a county in Kentucky who shot to fame because of her refusal to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, even after the US Supreme Court ruled that all bans on such marriages were unconstitutional. She has been defeated in her effort to retain the office that she seems to regard as a family sinecure, having taken it over from her mother who hired her to work in the office. She has lost to a Democrat. Her replacement is by no means a great friend of the LGBT community but he has promised to enforce the law equally.
This is not a major election, just a small one in a backwater. But the defeat of the awful Davis pleases me a great deal.
She went out of her way to place herself beyond sympathy. I hope her new career involves cleaning stables.
She’ll probably be hired by some homophobic organization. I thought at first maybe one of Ken Ham’s outfits, but her actual religious beliefs ( Apostolic Pentecostal ) are technically heretical to the statement of faith all employees are required to agree to.
But I’m sure that some group with “Family” in their name will be less exacting as to doctrine.
Hey?
What’s wrong with cleaning stables?
Did for years.

Certain insufferable people believe smelly physical labour is beneath them, and would rather go on unemployment benefits claiming they ‘couldn’t get a job’ rather than have that job. I’m fine with them getting a dose of real work, it’ll be good for them.
@3: Nothing, on the contrary. It’s the perfect place for KimD -- she will do something very useful and won’t be able to harm other people.
I didn’t say cleaning stables is bad; I just think it’s a suitable career for her. She won’t have to worry about gay horse poop.

Apostolic Pentecostal church membership is against Ham ‘n’ Eggs’ statement of faith?! I thought that kind of thing was right up his street!
I will never figure out all the flavours of Xianity…
@quotetheunquote:
It’s a matter of specific doctrines about God and Jesus. I’m pretty sure Ham requires those to be within mainline Protestantism. Mormons, similarly, are not acceptable for theological reasons. Quite possibly even Catholics, although I’m less certain of that.
But she’s still alive is the problem. She’s the reason I don’t vote. Can you imagine someone like having the power to force her will onto me?

Thanks for the link.
Great Zarquon, what a rabbit hole theology is! “Three aspects” vs. “three persons” (of an invisible entity, no less!), talk about splitting hairs. And while they’re at it, can they decide whether there are an infinite number of angels doing the samba on the head of that pin, or just half that number?
Yeah, it’s one hell of a rabbit hole. Also amuses me that Arianism is still used as an insult apparently.
