Jimmy Durmaz committed a foul in the closing seconds of Sweden’s match against Germany that gave the Germans a free kick that they converted into the winning goal. Some Swedish fans hurled racist abuse at Durnaz who was born in Sweden to a Syriac Christian family. In response, he and the team recorded this message.

Very nice.
I also find it interesting how universal the word “fuck” has become.

There’s a chance that Sweden can get through to the round of 16 at Germany’s expense on Wednesday. Fingers crossed! What I’m hoping is that Sweden can beat Mexico, and South Korea can at least hold the Germans to a draw.

That was nicely done.

This is an audio-only youtube rendition of an mp3 I remember from possibly 25 years ago. It’s almost scholarly! I like the vivaldi background music, too.

Wow. Not only did Sweden get through, but they top their group, and Germany go home finishing bottom of the group. What an interesting World Cup.
