There is a weird story coming out of Virginia where two young black men went to a CVS store to buy some cheese and suddenly found that all the store employees had disappeared, as if they had been abducted by aliens or been raptured. They looked everywhere for them and finally the police arrived to join in the search to find that the employees had locked themselves in a back room out of fear.
What was worse was that the police had been called by the hiding employees and he then asked the customers to leave or be charged with trespassing. Here’s the strange video.
I must say that the two young men seemed remarkably calm and good humored about the whole thing when they would be justified in being outraged. Young black men must be so used to being viewed as criminals that they learn to shrug it off as long as they are not treated too badly or arrested or shot.

Probably just glad they weren’t shot for shopping for cheese.

Those guys look a lot more respectable than many of my neigbours.
I agree asking for sliced cheese is a bit suspicious though I have been known to buy a bit occasionally for a sinful grilled cheese sandwich but I do it in a large grocery store where I am not singled out.
The speaker did seem to be taking it in rather good humour. I guess it was such surreal experience that that was about all one could do.

“two young black men”
Where I live those two wouldn’t qualify as black.

I don’t look at Rawstory very often, are they for real? This looks more like the kind of stuff the Onion makes up…
Just another sign (not that one was required) that the good old U.S. of A. has gone totally, completely, utterly, loco.

Rawstory is as real as many good sources in that they are usually reliable though not infallible. As far as I am aware, this really happened.

mnb0: This occurred in Virginia, a place where the One-Drop Rule has historically held sway.
Charles Sullivan says
According to this article “there is “no indication that the race of the customers played a role in this incident” because the two employees who worked that shift are black.”
