A new poll finds that almost half the people who plan to vote for either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in the next election based their decision on their dislike of the opposing candidate, not because they are enthusiastically supporting their own.
About 47 percent of Trump supporters said they backed him primarily because they don’t want Clinton to win. Another 43 percent said their primary motivation was a liking for Trump’s political positions, while 6 percent said they liked him personally.
Similar responses prevailed among Clinton supporters.
About 46 percent said they would vote for her mostly because they don’t want to see a Trump presidency, while 40 percent said they agreed with her political positions, and 11 percent said they liked her personally.
This result is consistent with other polls that show that both Trump and Clinton have net strong unfavorability ratings that have reached historically high levels and net strong favorability ratings that have reached historic lows. This means that being really hated by your political opponents is not being balanced by being really loved by your supporters.
These kinds of results are worrisome It suggest that a general election between Clinton and Trump will be determined by who is disliked more. That kind of politics only breeds cynicism.
I would suggest the election system being rigged by the industries to screw the workers is what bred the cynicism.

I get really frustrated by the victim-blaming people who believe in the two party system engage in. First, they disenfranchise everyone by rigging the elections. Then, they lecture us about how we’re not being good sports if we opt out of the whole shameful thing. Finally, they fuck everything up by putting sleazy robotic talking heads in office. The problem is not just the talking heads, it’s the whole ci-devant system and the massive edifice of con artists and bootlickers that built it.
Of course we hate them. Anyone rational would hate those frightful goons. I’m not a violent person but that’s because I’ve got privilege and I’m comfortable. If I was one of the many who have been disempowered and dispossed by these motherfuckers I would be, seriously, planning insurrection and learning how to knit.
