Coincidentally, as I watched this video, the NFL cable channel is in the middle of two hours of lead-in programming for the utterly meaningless Hall Of Fame game (the first NFL preseason contest).
I’d love to grouse about how badly our national priorities are screwed up, but I really can’t without being a hypocrite since I’m as guilty as the next football fan. Well, at least I vote in favor of any school funding measures in my town… but they all seem to lose anyway.

That’s terrible, Don. Like pretty much everyone, I see all sorts of problems in my city, San Jose, but I am proud to say that school funding measures nearly always pass here.

Where I live too school funding measures almost always pass, except for one occasion in my 26 years here, and that was reversed at the next election six months later.
