Journalist, terrorist, meh, same diff! 😉
Of course, files are one thing, hard copy (multiples thereof at that!) is another again and computers can be avoided, accessed from elsewhere and not necessarily home or physically destroyed if need be.
Any smart journalist could, of course, be recording that whole encounter with her / his own independent video camera from the start as well.
Plus there’s the whole ting of y’know colleagues and editors having conatc and reasons for suspeicion and so on.
Plus the pantomine style parody of the NSA, well, not exactly either subtle or that plausible really I think.
Isn’t this all pretty obvious?

Note for the sarcasm / sardonic humour challenged here -- yeah I *do* know there’s a huge difference between journalists and terrorists and, of course, everyone in the various counter-terrorism branches and government knows that too and acts accordingly.
(Needless to say this should be needless to say but sadly it needs to be said.)

D’oh. Correction for clarity that’s :
Plus there’s the whole thing of y’know colleagues and editors, having contact with the journalist here and reasons for suspicion if anything happens and so on.
