That is Musk is banning / suspending accounts on Musk’s X-Twitter that promote the anti-Trump protests natch.
The Australian government has started doing this already locally, but Meta is now doing it worldwide too, restricting access to features on their socmed platforms if below age 16:

On the news and microblogging front, at least as far as sciences are concerned, Bluesky has overtaken the shrivelled husk that is X in postings and relevance. Sadly there are still a few people and orgs persevering over there (guilty as charged, for me it’s football hashtags on the weekend)for various reasons. The Bluesky AT protocol is also being used to build for example alternatives to TikTok like Skylight.
Dear PZ, I always like your podcasts. However, I keep seeing symptoms of the ongoing deterioration of social media from disgusting to toxic.
Also, off topic, but interesting, Rebecca Watson has a new post where she has responsible documentation that COVID (aka the tRUMP Plague, still killing 450+ per week) causes significant mental deterioration.

I haven’t watched it, but this has been known and demonstrated since at least 2021 for adults as well as children. You see it in all kinds of things, from the ability to reverse park a car, to kids doing worse in standardised school tests, to memory loss and worsened work performance. It’s estimated each mild Covid infection takes 2-3 points of your IQ away, and 6-9 points with severe infection.
I don’t know how big an audience Rebecca reaches these days, but at least she has migrated to Bluesky quite early.

Before anyone damsn facebook tooharshly maybe they should look at paegs like Occupy Democrats, Feminist News, The 50501 Movement & other progressive pages that use it well tomake some good points and help activists against the regressives.
I don’t know why HJH was wearing a mask, and a decent one at that, but I’m impressed nonetheless.
