There is alas a huge crowd of other charlatans remaining.
    .
I just buried some duck fledglings that did not make it – the only thing that can cheer me up now would be stickning Boris Johnson and Trump in one of those wicker thingies the celts were fond of making.

What was that? De mortem nihil nisi bene?
    Wellllll…..
    Silvio Berlusconi croaked? Good!
They should make his burial site a giant urinal, so people can piss on his grave.
And here’s some prayer to the FSM: do Marine LePen and Alexander Gauland next. Oh yeah and The Italian Melon(i) for good measure.

And Berlusconi’s good friend and fellow fascist Vladimir Putin has found warm words for his dearly missed true friend.

Let us pray he will soon be reunited with his pal – and Trump of course!

If someone has a bit freezer we can stack Berlusconi, Kissinger and Le Pen senior on top of each other as they go and eventually have a single funeral , thus having an excuse for the biggest party since VE Day.

On a day of bad news at least a little light to brighten my day. The world became today a slightly better place.

Another one bites the dust…and another one gone, and another one gone. Even billionaire oligarchs must die.

Of course we’ve got a crop of erstwhile billionaire oligarchs who think they can outwit death…is that a whiff of musk I smell?

Note that György Schwartz (aka George Soros) is 92. Wonder who the Neo-Fascists will blame once he’s gone.

robro @ # 8: … György Schwartz (aka George Soros) is 92. Wonder who the Neo-Fascists will blame once he’s gone.

His younger and “more political” son, Alexander Soros.

Here’s a telling bit of news in the world of oligarchs: Fred Ryan has been the CEO and publisher of the Washington Post since Jeff Bezos bought it ten years ago. He’s leaving to go back to work at his previous employer, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation. He also worked in the Reagan admin. Not exactly liberal credentials, if you were to ask me, despite cries of the right-wingers that WaPo is a mouth piece of liberalism.

    Pierce R. Butler @ #10 — Good to know there’s a Soros available as a whipping post.

    Re: gijoel @ #3…
I don’t want Trump to die until after he has been sentenced. That’s because I don’t want to see him “exonerated” by having the proceedings dropped before sentencing.

Holyshit, the gates of Hell is going to be crowded. I hope Khamenei is next.

You’ll be pleased to know that the world media is streaming now with articles that world leaders are saying nice things about the dead crook. Al Jazeera’s headline says so much: “Putin, Orban lead global tributes for Italy’s Silvio Berlusconi”. Then there’s this one from the Citrus County Chronicle (a Florida rag): “Silvio Berlusconi’s death draws tributes, even from critics, in Italy and beyond”. That’s neutral, right?

Some of the headlines and comments seemed worded not to say really bad things about him, like saying he was “significant”. Yep, so was Hitler, Napoleon…even Chump, among others.

Honestly, after the work day I’ve had, this is perfect. Literally the best news I’ve had all day.
One more gropey, rapey, creepy criminal gone. I’m going to have a martini.
    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/silvio-berlusconi-italy-acquitted-bribery-bunga-bunga-sex-parties-trial/

Berlusconi was acquitted by Italy’s highest court in 2015 on the original charges of underage prostitution and abuse of office. In that trial, the court determined that although Berlusconi did pay for sex with El Mahroug, he did not know she was only 17 at the time.

There must be a veritable conga line of criminals at death’s gate.
May Putin and Kissinger be next.

@11 WaPo has actually been quite good for the last few years–much better than the bothsidesing NYT.

Ukraine’s Independence Day is August 24th. Imagine three months of continuous good news, ending with the end of the war and the end of Putin.

In Italy to see the family and the beatification has started already.
TV’s harping on him, big fascist honchos tearing their clothes, xenophobes and authoritarians’ whole circus in full swing…
No mention of all the legal shit he was involved in, the destruction of the legal system, the monopoly of the media…
Another asshole died fat, rich and old.
I hope he actually gets a statue, so it can be defaced.

While June 2023 has been a good month for the world, it’s been rubbish for me personally as we’ve discovered my father has a brain tumour. He might be an old (-ish), rich (-ish) white man, but he’s definitely not an asshole and doesn’t deserve a stupid great tumour trying to take over his brain – but unfortunately it’s there and even though he’s going to have all the medical treatment available it’ll still come back.

I’m sorry for lowering the mood – I just wanted to tell someone.
