The problem with US politics:
Democrats need to fall in love with a candidate to support them.
Republicans just fall in line.
The good news is that with control of the Senate no longer hinging on his election, Republicans are likely to lose motivation to vote in the runoff.
I don’t agree with Warnock’s religion. But, I truly appreciate and support how decent and caring Warnock is.
And, It is Terribly Troubling that so many people are willing to vote for a lying, ignorant Tackling Dummy!!
Seems like a racist joke by the GOP honestly. There just has to be more articulate, intelligent Black Republicans in GA to run but they chose him. They won’t even allow to be appear on TV interviews alone. I doubt Walker understands he’s being used.

I tend to be leery of ministers (and the like) running for office. On the other hand, the Republicans have (collectively) gone so far into the crazy, that I’d take a minister over almost anything the R’s run. Walker doesn’t make it out to the “almost” category.

I don’t think it’s a GOP meritocracy thing. The primary reason Walker is where he’s at is because he played for Trump’s New Jersey Generals from 1983-85 in the USFL. Full stop. Trump still likes him. So he’s running for Senate.
Amongst right leaning Georgian voters that he was a college standout for the Bulldogs may add sentimental value. But loyalty between Walker and Trump may play the primary if not exclusive role in his current status.

Well, he’s certainly in contention but Sarah Palin,Louie Gohmert (http://dododreams.blogspot.com/2015/07/my-head-hurts-now.html ), Marjorie Taylor Greene and from here in Oz the likes of Malcolm Roberts ( https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2016/aug/16/qa-brian-cox-brings-graphs-malcolm-roberts ), Barnaby “Beetrooter” Joyce and, if only for the very shortest of short times, Mal Meninga whose entire aspiring political career can be seen here (although at least our sporting star turned pollie knew when to quit) all give pretty solid competition for that dubious title.
