I blame Facebook, where every ignorant brain-fart can spread.
The COVID vaccine does not contain DNA. Even if it did (but why would it?) it won’t replace your DNA. DNA has nothing to do with souls — souls don’t exist, so it can’t.
The greater danger is that Facebook will eat your brain.

Even more ridiculous to their “claim”: Doesn’t a blood transfusion also carry the “DNA of another person”, yet I’m pretty sure aside from maybe a Jehova Witness, most christian sects have no issues with this at all. They don’t think that the doctor’s trying to dilute their soul while saving their life, do they? Or are they trying to say that merely taking in foreign DNA will change you? Because eating does that every day!
Screw it, even THEY don’t know what they’re trying to say, so why am I trying to figure it out? HA!

A tomato sandwich contains a dead tomatoes DNA. What if your DNA changes to that tomato’s? Will you become a tomato?

mamba@1 —
There is only a very small amount of DNA in a blood transfusion. Mature red cells have no DNA, and the blood is filtered to remove most of the white cells, which reduces transfusion reactions. But you’re right — there’s still a little DNA in a transfusion which makes it infinitely more than any of the COVID vaccines.
(And the Jehovah’s Witness objection is not to DNA per se, but due to a particular scriptural interpretation: https://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/questions/bible-about-blood-transfusion/ )

Who is dumb enough to believe that meme anyway?
Strangely enough, a huge number of people in the USA will just look at and agree, without the slightest idea of what DNA even is.
As this pandemic drags on, the people ending up in the ICU with Covid-19 virus are almost all antivaxxers. They are also getting more and more dysfunctional; dumb, not educated, belligerent, combative, hostile, and often screaming at the health care workers and sometimes assaulting them. Most health care workers are beyond caring about these people any more and 18% have simply quit.
So how cognitively lacking are they?
Some of them aren’t vaccinated because they believe the Covid-19 viral disease is caused by demons and/or witchcraft. The Demon Theory of Disease is still alive and living in fundie xian’s minds.

Damn beat me to it. Food contains DNA and we eat food. We are not Autotrophic, we need to consume that which lived and had DNA to live.
Hey! I have an idea. (a bad one) we should start a diet fad. Welcome to the DNA-Free diet program. You can only eat food that doesn’t have DNA. Good luck starving to death.

Addendum: Just realized this can be done. Your diet will consist mostly of highly refined sugar and refined vegetable oil. So all the worst things in the American diet with none of the good things.

So no DNA in Twinkies then?
If I were you, I wouldn’t mention this diet idea ever again. Since, for most Americans, “most believable” = “whatever I most want to hear,” the idea that Twinkies are health food could take root across the country in a single news cycle. If it makes it onto Facebook or Twitter, we’re done for.

While reading this, I had a random thought. Could I make a digital image of my genome and sell it as a non-fungible token (NFT) for big bucks? I’ve been musing about buying a golden EU passport as a fallback refuge if Trump is reelected, but I’d have to sell my house to come up with enough cash. Portugal costs €350,000. Is there a website where I could advertise my genome to gullible, deep pocketed billionaires? Maybe Musk would like to have it. In the future he could even clone me. He could even own my soul. I wouldn’t care. I’m not using it.

I’m not the first to observe it, but when a statement merely gets something wrong, you can form an argument against it. A complete non sequitur, by contrast, can be so baffling as to leave no opening for correction. In this case, my first attempt at reply is “Wuhhhhhhh….” and it doesn’t get much better from there.
Maybe I could fight fire with fire: if we’re getting dead people’s DNA then why are there still dead people? Ha! Gotcha!

They must think there is a difference between eating DNA and having it injected. Something about the stomach processing the food, which injection bypasses. Imagination runs wild when presented something that needs to be understood, and isn’t common knowledge [which is neither actually]

“Am I going to turn into Iron Man?”
You would be even better than that: TitanIron Man. The abundance of iron in the Earth is an order of magnitude more common than titanium, one of the reasons why titanium is so much more expensive. Iron is relatively easy to machine while titanium rapidly wears out tooling,. yet another reason for the cost difference. Chrome is far less common than iron which is one reason why stainless steel costs a lot more than regular steel (as well as work hardening). Cheap stainless costs around $1.50 a Kg,, while titanium is around $40 / Kg, but these prices are also somewhat dated.

I’ll put this here as a PSA.
Three of the six vaccines used currently don’t work so well against the Omicron variant, which will soon be the dominant one. The main one for US people would be the J&J one, which isn’t very commonly given any more.
Hospitals in a lot of the USA are already way over capacity with antivaxx Covid-19 virus patients.
And the 6th wave is just getting started.
A lot of people are going to get a serious viral disease for Xmas.

Question: Does it matter if the person was alive when the DNA was collected and then died later?
Question: Are the effects of Live person DNA different than the effects of Dead Person DNA?

Question: If they did turn into the dead person, would they be a zombie or just dead.
