I don’t think we got a lot of snow last night, but I can’t tell, because these fierce winter winds scour everything bare. Most of the snow that might have fallen in my front yard is probably in the next county.
It might still be snowing, or the wind could just be pushing it around in the air, I don’t know. I’ve been entertained by watching the birds pumping their wings frantically to try and reach this birdfeeder and essentially hovering in place until they tire and the wind whisks them away. Poor birds.
Looks like snow is back on the Cheeseland forecast and due to start in little less than an hour.
Try throwing some seeds at patches of ground that are partially protected from snowfall- the birds should be able to find them before the birdseeds are covered by snow.
So how long did you stand at your window shaking your fist and cussing out the snow? I have a vested interest in your answer. I’m in the office pool you started a couple posts ago.
I’m in it for the long haul. I know this is going to be a long haul, so I’ll control my impatience until the first time I slip and fall, and then I will blister the skies with my righteous fury.
Thankfully, it’s still very Spring-like here in Maryland. I assume it’ll eventually cool down significantly but hopefully no Arctic conditions.
@Walter Solomon, hitting 39 tonight, freezing tomorrow night, intermittent rain/snow overnight for the Harrisburg, PA region.
A couple of years back, we had an early November snow, royal pain in the ass, as engineering cleared snow slightly below the accumulation rate on the base and by the time the installation commander figured out the conditions were damned ugly, a two mile drive home took an hour. Could’ve ditched the van and walked home faster.
