If that’s a 3-mm jumping spider, no problemo. Anything bigger than that gets a rolled-up newspaper in my house. Sorry, Dr. Myers.

s/he’s adorable! why aren’t you studying these guys instead of those ho-hum parasteadoda?

I am stunned that people kill spiders who come inside the house. If they make you nervous (and they shouldn’t) why not use a glass jar and a piece of cardboard to gently transfer them back to the outside world?

What a sweetie. S/he looks so innocent, so candid, so artless and appealing and ready to pounce :-)
Looks cornered and frightened. And the eyes resemble the ultrasound sensors connected to my Arduino. Is it alive?

It is very cute. And that’s not my usual reaction with spiders. It strikes me less as frightened than poised to defend itself.

Beautiful. I’ve added this pic to my picture file, along with several of my favorite tarantulas.

As temperatures in Stockholm are now above freezing, I would like to borrow a few thousand of those….to spray on the crowd of rioting anti-restriction wankers there (a mixture of anti-vaxxers and alt-right blokes, with a sprinkling of neo-nazis). Biological pest control.
.
The spider in the image could serve as a template for a fluffy toy/doll.
Make it remote-controlled and you have a toy winner.

If some amphibians are able to regrow limbs and survive freezing temperatures , we should GM the hell out of spiders like this one to self-repair. And get antifreerze proteins so they survive going dormant in winter.
Then, in springtime they emerge to snack on the insects that get more numerous due to climate change.

I have always been fairly severely arachnophobic, since early childhood. But I love your spider posts. I can’t relax and enjoy their subjects on my own behalf, but I can share your evident appreciation and delight. I like that. :)

Not a spider person but I went out last night to take a couple of star shots and nearly walked through this; https://photos.app.goo.gl/8SFCHsySPzrfMTdG8
So I took some photos closer to home than planned; https://photos.app.goo.gl/dcMD1yADJTzRy68P7
On mild windless nights one is apt to get caught up in these webs as they get strung across paths – always gone by morning.
