Mark Hamill is out.
So disappointed that #MarkZuckerberg values profit more than truthfulness that I've decided to delete my @Facebook account. I know this is a big "Who Cares?" for the world at large, but I'll sleep better at night. #PatriotismOverProfits 🇲🇾>💰 https://t.co/seb2eJMTo6

Are you going to disagree with Luke Skywalker? (Don’t remind me that he’s also the Joker.)
Joerg says
He put that on Twitter? That basically only survives because they let Trump take shits on their code of conduct every day?
barbaz says
He’s also Fire Lord Ozai. Nobody dishonors the Fire Lord.
F.O. says
Why did he use the flag of Malaysia?
Susan Montgomery says
He’s only the animated/video game Joker though.
@3 Because he’s Mark Hamill and can do what he wants.
Autobot Silverwynde says
@4 Only?! Heh, his Joker is the only Joker. Hands down, Hamill is the best!
And good on him. Facebook is getting far too toxic now.

The flag emojis are really tiny, maybe he didn’t put on his glasses.

@ 5&6 I’ll have to defer to your greater knowledge on the subject for the objective “best”. I’m only familiar with the Arkham Asylum games (the first one and a half, anyway) and Heath Ledger’s performance in The Dark Knight. Each performance had it’s points but Ledger is the one I like.
PaulBC says
And Joaquin Phoenix was most recently some variant of Joker. But more significantly, he played Johnny Cash in Walk the Line (2005).
You gonna argue with Johnny Cash?
billmcd says
Hell, I’d agree with that even coming from the Joker. Stay on Facebook? The Joker might be dangerously insane, but he’s not crazy. ;)
One Brow says
Mark Hamill also played the Trickster on two different version of The Flash.
nomdeplume says
So, Mark has become a Malaysian? But seriously, way to go Mark. Leaving Rupert Murdoch too one side, Zuckerberg is the greatest danger to democracy, and indeed civilisation, in the world today. He is Dr Frankenstein, his monster is wrecking the world, and he doesn’t care.

I use a thing called FB Purity which seems to block most FB rubbish – along with ABP and Ghostery.
Many sites wont let me on without blocking one or the other but I refuse to do so an dont seem to miss much.
I keep trying ‘personal’ social media options – the idea being you run your own server on either a machine at home or on a hosting site and with that you have complete control over who you communicate with and no adverts, There are a few options but none I like too much. I am working on something that would do personal social networking but it will be a while before I’ve got the basics sorted as it needs to be ultra secure and yet user friendly so it could be a while before the users are upgraded sufficiently to make it work,
Kip T.W. says
These references to ABPurity remind me that back when I was on FB, there was a lovely freeware extension that made the place bearable on a day-to-day basis. It expanded threads and put things in the order I chose. One day it said there was an update, so I installed that, only to find (not in this order) that Facebook had bought the thing out and neutered it. I left FB that day. Soon after, 2014 or 2015, one of my classes required all students to have Facebook accounts to keep in touch with the teacher, which I protested to no avail. A friend of mine wrote about it in an article for TIME, which didn’t come out due to some newsworthy event that stopped the presses and caused them to put something else on the pages (I have PDFs of the article, which was set and placed around the ads already).
Once the class was over, I freed myself once again, which takes forever. For weeks and months, I was in Schroedinger’s Facebook–if I’d made a gesture in its direction, it would have fully reinstated me, because it knows nobody really wants to leave its loving coils. Left because of the inconvenience; stayed away because of the rapacious snooping and selling of information. At the time, unbridled political lying for profit wasn’t even on my radar. The more I know, the gladder I am that I got out of there.

@billmcd Hey, the Joker, may be a criminal, but even he doesn’t tolerate nazis.

#5, 6, 8 and 9: Cesar Romero

@15 How did I forget that one?
One Brow says
He’s also been the Trickster on two different incarnations of The Flash.
