This lovely plump Salticus scenicus was tough to photograph, it was just skittering all over the place and refused to hold still for a photo. That’s Salticus for you, though.
Ah ,Zebra spiders ,one of the few spiders i don’t mind .

Agreed, but I think that goes for almost all of the jumping spiders, I’m a bit squeamish of spiders myself but the Salticidae are by far the cutest family (because of their big eyes I guess). Saw the Zebra spiders a lot when growing up, they tend to like scurrying up the walls of houses.
Last time when I saw a jumper making its way across our living room floor I ushered it out (my kids would just trample it by accident). Inspired by PZ’s barrage of monster pics I quickly made a pic of it up close just before it made its exit to the garden. Here it is, contemplating jumping me and mauling me to death:
When I was a kid I learned about jumping spiders and thought that was the coolest thing ever. I was so pleased to find some in the yard. I sometimes forget that bugs were one of my top passions for a few years there (5-8?). I suspect it was caused by my fondness for “Honey I Shrunk The Kids”…

I know next to nothing of spiders, but did a quick lookup on common Salticidae in my country and I’m pretty certain it was a Marpissa muscosa.
