The best time to watch Batman is when you’re 9 years old and spending the night with your grandma and uncle, drinking pop and eating ice cream. I guess that’s gone now, too.
Re @2: Ah! Proof!! What has “PZ Myers” done with the real poopyhead (see @3)!? Who is the current obvious imposter poopyhead? A glimpse, perhaps of the sudden interest in spiders… the real poopyhead liked things with lots of wriggly things (e.g., squids), which this imposter is clearly — clearly! — trying to mimic with the sudden spidermania!!!

oh dear, I thought Seth McFarland was being satiric when he designed an episode of Family Guy honoring the passing of Adam West (mayor of Quahog). I was still unaware of his passing, sigh.[tears]. His portrayal of Batman’66 was iconic, my favorite Batman, DCcomics has tried to make him too gritty these days in what they call ‘modernizing him’.
thank you for letting me mourn

He played the commander of a four-man crew of astronauts on a mission to Mars in “The Out Limits,” titled “The Invisible Enemy.” It aired in 1962 or 63. I saw it when it first aired and forgot about it until I can across it a few years ago. It’s interesting that it featured a black astronaut at a time when black characters on TV shows were almost always stereotypes and, usually, clowns of some sort. Another episode featured a black woman doctor (or scientist, don’t remember for sure) who was involved in a project to study an alien creature that had come to Earth.

I met Adam West once. He was a friend of the Governor of Idaho, and I was present at the dedication of a new park in Boise. West was standing next to me, and I realized that he was actually a huge man! I’m pretty large myself, but he was a couple inches taller and barrel-chested. Or maybe it was just his presence, but he was a big guy.
I did the same thing (was surprised and dismayed by their death, forgot about it, and was surprised and dismayed by it again) over Diana Wynne Jones.

apologies to Seth McFarlane for misspelling your surname. (see @5)
Thank you Seth for all your tributes, and now the homage to Trek in your show Orville

He died two years ago. I guess word is only now reaching the Spiderverse.

Indeed, poopyhead blogged about his death at the time, The one true Batman has died.
