I was in the theahtuh as a youth. The first time I heard that joke, the punchline was “The Debonairs.” I actually like that better.

I found the article vulgar and transparent, even for the well-deserved satire that it is. But I agree with the implied bottom line, which is that the American people have truly fucked themselves over by not only electing this monster Trump to office, but allowing him to remain there while he and his minions destroy the country.
I find myself constantly referring my Trump-voting conservative family members and friends to the New York Post edition of 20 years ago, featuring our current First Lady in a disgusting nude girl-on-girl photo spread with BDSM overtones. “That’s the woman you co-elected with Trump,” I tell them. Invariably, they respond with “And your point is, exactly? She’s better than that former ape in high heels!”

So…lesbian depictions are disgusting? How nice of you. You might wish to pay attention to your own biases first. And even if you’re presupposing your family member and friends attitudes, still not cool. It’s not cool to use Ms. Trump as a basis to get those people to reject Trump – aren’t his own acts bad enough?

The best description of Donald Jnr I ever saw described him as a ‘vampire drowning in child support payments.’

The problem I would have with the semi-pornographic photo of Melania as described is that it sexualizes female homosexuals for the benefit of male viewers.

Also regarding vulgarity and power, see the French absurdist play ” King Ubu”.

I’ve adapted the joke, made the perversions even more extreme and changed the punchline to
“Focus on the Family”.

Incidentally, in an interview with Bill Maher, Michael Wolff says that Trump is having an affair right now. He can’t say who, but if you read between the lines, you can figure it out from one paragraph of his book.
Sleaze sells.

cervantes @ #2 — “The Debonaires.” According to Wikipedia, you are right. It’s also known as “The Sophisticates”. “The Aristocrats” seems fitting given their history of incest, debauchery, and detestable behavior.

I think I already saw that show.
Unfortunately the audience didn’t drag that cast off of the stage and beat them to death with shovels, so i haz a sad.

pastorbentonit @ #13 — Ah, yes, tricky Alfred, always playing with words and sounds. It’s been a while since I read the play and the bio of Jarry that I have. In that bio, the illustrator…Bill Griffith…translated “Merdre” as “Shitre”.
Snarki, child of Loki @ #14 — As I recall, while there was a riot in the audience over the one and only performance, there were no fatalities and I don’t think the cast was particularly involved…mostly the audience arguing (including William Butler Yates per Yates).
The entire point of “The Aristocrats” is to see just how far over the line you can go, and this version? This is either the best or the worst, possibly both at the same time.

I think the act needs a chorus of white evangelical Christians, praising Borscht Belt Dad as their saviour. For greater realism.

And the spectacle of Borscht Belt Dad lecturing everyone about sexual morality at the March for Life means that satire is well and truly dead. I don’t think even the National Enquirer could top that one.
