But what about my evil reputation?

I got interviewed for an article on all us scheming left-wing zealots on the Professor Watch List, and this is what I get? The Minnesotans on the ‘Professor Watchlist’ are disappointingly unthreatening.

Oh, well. “Disappointing” and “Unthreatening” are going right onto my CV.

And yes, I have to agree — it’s a buncha mild-mannered Minnesota professors, dontcha know!

I’ve always felt resumes should have a testimonials section:

What the critics say about PZ Myers:
    “Refreshingly serious, and disappointingly unthreatening.”
    “Social Justice Warrior”

It’s better than when my ex-wife said I should come with a warning label, and she suggested a tattoo.

Along with “smells sciencey” and “desecrates consecrated hosts”.

“Disappointing” and “unthreatening” is likely to become even more so. There’s a letter going around that originated from the AUUP suggesting that university professors submit their own names as a protest.

So, is there a difference between
    ‘an evil reputation’ and
    ‘a reputation for evil’?

Not a single mention of squidly overlord? Pfft. Journalists these days, they just don’t do their research.

blf, it’s odd that “desecrating consecrated hosts” is considered worse than “defecating consecrated hosts,” isn’t it?

It’s a stealth cyberpistol and uniform.

You mean sweatshirts and sweatpants? That is the uniform I wear in colder weather, khakis are used only for shopping, medical/dental vists, etc.

When I was out running the snowthrower in single digits recently, the sweat pants were warmer than jeans.

    dammit
    I did some ‘research’.
    (went through my old bookmarks)
The uniform turned out to be *ahem* nudity and
the cyberpistol turned out to be ……….
    …. still waiting

We had a recent job applicant who put “honest employee” on their resume. I mean, that’s a good thing, not saying it isn’t, but, like “clothed employee”, it suggests the possibility of the opposite quality.

  11. Mobius says

Don’t worry, PZ. They’ll soon offer a revised edition with “mostly disappointing” and “mostly unthreatening”.

Let’s not forget Dr Craig Packer, banned from Tanzania for, of all things, rooting out corruption! So bad on foreign relations! It makes me want to get a degree there so I can be a card carrying member of the “wretched hive of scum and villainy.” Where do I sign up?
