Another day, another fabrication. It turns out he wasn’t “showered with rocks” in an LA riot — he just pissed off one guy by acting like an asshole. That’s just every day life for Bill O’Reilly.
Does it matter at this point? No matter how many times Billo is proved to have lied about a segment he did on his show the cons will never care. The more evidence you present against someone’s views the more they’ll dig in their heels and insist they are right.

Is PZ implying that there are things O’Reilly has said that weren’t fabricated? Because that would be real breaking news.
It really is quite the entertaining contrast to Brianwilliamsgate. Tempest in a teacup, meet the perpetual Shitblizzard.

At the end of the day isn’t lying through your teeth an actual job requirement for Fox?
[…] Two of the team said the man was angered specifically by O’Reilly behaving disrespectfully after arriving at the smoking remains of his neighbourhood in a limousine, whose driver at one point began polishing the vehicle. O’Reilly is said to have shouted at the man and asked him: “Don’t you know who I am?”
Yep, that just about says it all. That’s all you need to know about Bill O’Reilly.
Even if Faux News does not dismiss him, we can.

Good ol’ Bill O’Hindenburg, the second most famous flaming gas bag in history.
But the race isn’t over yet and he does keep trying.
In a sign that even O’Reilly’s staunchest supporters may be backing off:
Fox News and owner Rupert Murdoch’s newspapers The New York Post, and The Wall Street Journal have all fallen silent as more questions emerge about Bill O’Reilly’s claims about his reporting career. […]
O’Reilly said the sun doth rise,
He said it also sets.
Well blow me down and damn my eyes,
He’s right, but that’s not how I’d bet.
’cause even when it’s plainly true—
If he told me that the sky was blue—
I’d doubt myself. Well wouldn’t you?
’cause going by his record, you’d think clearly,
That his name is not 'O’Reilly,' but 'Oh Really?'

I long ago came to the conclusion that Bill is a pathological liar who habitually tells untruths and may not even be cognizant that he is doing it.
What convinced me of that was seeing him being interviewed on someone else’s show. He was asked about a controversial statement he had made on his own show. Bill flatly denied that he ever said it. So they roll the tape of him saying it. Then cut back to the studio and Bill still insists he never said it. Most people when confronted with the evidence would backtrack or make excuses about “out of context” or whatever. But not Bill, who remained adamant that he never even said it.

I had no idea Brian Williams was supposed to be a liberal until I saw how severely he was punished for doing once something that Bill O’Reilly does on a regular basis.

Actually, I submit that pissing off just one person in a day is extremely anomolous for BillO.
Uh-huh. Right. Bill O’Reilly did not see any bombings in Ireland. He saw photos of bombings.
Fox News issued a clarification on Friday on behalf of its star host Bill O’Reilly, saying that he said he’d “seen” bombings in Northern Ireland because police showed him photos of them.
The Washington Post spotted a passage in O’Reilly’s 2013 book, “Keep It Pithy,” in which he described seeing lethal bombings in Northern Ireland.
“I’ve seen soldiers gun down unarmed civilians in Latin America, Irish terrorists kill and maim their fellow citizens in Belfast with bombs,” O’Reilly wrote.
A Fox spokesperson told the Washington Post that O’Reilly did not witness any bombings or injuries in Northern Ireland but was simply shown photos by police officers. […]
